Tasman/Corinya Stations’ Meat Goats

The hardy Australian Rangeland Goat and the farmed South African Boer Goat have been used as base stock to produce a composite Australian Meat Goat. This animal has been shown to yield a heavier meat carcase within a twelve month period.

Composite Australian Meat Goat

Note the mixed heritage of Rangeland and Boer goat characteristics in the flock.

To preserve and protect the stock the boundary fences are constructed from hinge-joint(mesh) wire. Many internal fences are also hinge-joint.

With low stocking rates, producing low impac
t grazing, it was felt that in this way:

the ecological system would be sustained
range land ground cover would be improved and
the habitats of all living creatures on the land would be enhanced.
